How does EFT work?
The foundations of EFT lie in ancient Chinese medicine using the meridians.....pathways of energy that run in our bodies that are connected to and influence certain body systems, organs, and emotions. Acupuncturists use the meridians to determine where to place the needles. In EFT we are using these same meridians without using any needles and it is often referred to as "acupuncture without needles."
EFT is based
on the idea that all negative
emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system. In
EFT specific energy points on the face, chest and hand are gently tapped
fingertips (by the client or the practitioner) in a specific pattern while the client focuses on their specific
issue of concern.
EFT does not
erase the memory of the issue, but
it can decrease or eliminate the negative emotions associated with the issue. It
is possible to
attain some relief in just a few minutes
and results can be long lasting when using this tool consistently.
While it can be most helpful to work with an experienced EFT practitioner to quickly get to the core issue, EFT can be easily learned to use for your own self-care.
